With the increasing frequency and severity of emergencies world-wide the organisation is increasing its capacity to support programmes in both sudden onset and chronic emergency situations.
Save the Children UK are looking for experienced, committed and energetic Food Security and Livelihoods Experts to join our Emergency Response Personnel team (ERP). In the meantime,we are also aiming at growing our FS&L roster for surge deployment and/or consultanciesand help build the organization capacity to respond effectively to emergencies world-wide.
About the role
The ERP FSL Coordinator will generally be deployed as a field level technical coordinator in a medium or large scale emergency. Alternatively, they may be deployed as the lead technical adviser in a small emergency. On occasion they may also be asked to gap fill a field level technical coordinator role in a chronic humanitarian country programme. The ERP FSL Coordinator will be expected to lead on sectoral assessment, project planning, coordination, and support fundraising, recruitment and procurement, usually at a Provincial or sub-national level. In most circumstances, the post holder will be expected to mentor and/or capacity building existing country programme staff.
About you
You will have progressive experience of working in humanitarian FSL programmes, including prior internationally based experience. As a humanitarian project manager, you have implemented monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. You also have a great knowledge of the main institutional donors and have successfully drafted proposals. Additionally you will have experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability.
About the recruitment process
