Development and Production North America (DPNA) aims to develop a material and profitable position in North America, including deepwater Gulf of Mexico, unconventional gas and oil sands. In doing this, we will establish capability centres for deepwater and unconventional gas operations as well as carbon efficient oil sands extraction. This will ensure our further development in the area.

Job description

  • This is a team leader position collocated in our Houston and Austin offices and should have experience in all phases of Lease Records and associated Land Contracts. He/she should be a strong leader and mentor for his/her team, have experience writing procedures and processes and experience in setting goals and reviewing same with team. The position resides within the Early Stage Projects & Land Division of the Onshore Business Unit and will report to the Leader of Lease Records. The current department consists of 9 members. Applicant should be willing to spend at least 25% of his/her time between both offices.
  • Duties should include but are not limited to the following:
  • Establish goals for team members, monitor progress and deliver formal evaluations in alignment with our goals and actions
  • Mentor and develop team members
  • Monitor annual internal survey results and collaborate with leadership team to focus on adverse results while leveraging the positive ones
  • Conduct regular meetings as needed to assist with team issues and provide guidance where needed
  • Develop and maintain good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
  • Encourage and develop team to maintain open and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish and implement procedures for input of leases and payment of obligations
  • Develop and implement process in the Statoil environment
  • Collaborate with Leaders to maintain a team environment across Land Administration
  • Monitor leasehold payments to insure all obligations are processed and mailed timely
  • Monitor rental and obligation calendars and circulation of same
  • Monitor the process of releases, amendments and extensions and update system
  • Develop and improve internal training program for new hires
  • Assist with and become involved with Acquisitions and Divestitures within discipline
  • Lead and inspire team to be HSE and cost conscious
  • Manage special projects
  • Travel will be required between Austin, TX and Houston, TX
  • Travel will be required anywhere in United States as a result of acquisitions and/or divestitures as needed
  • Travel could increase and decrease in nature dependent upon business need

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Lease Records
  • High school diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree preferred
