Purpose:
Purpose:
UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a long term arrangement for a pool of “on-call” technical nutrition writers/editors (as individual consultants).

Minimum requirements and competencies:
• Masters in Public Health/ Community Nutrition/Development studies/ development communication/ development journalism, gender and agrarian studies/public policy (Ph.D. preferred)
• Proven documentation, statistical and analytical skills.
• Current knowledge of development issues, strategies, as well as programming policies and procedures in development cooperation.
• A strong familiarity as to how public administration systems affect delivery of results for children
• Experience in writing for media outlets, development-related organizations, research centres, think-tanks or multilateral institutions required;
• Substantive understanding of and/or background in one or more of the following areas of specialization mentioned in point 1 (please see attached TOR).
• Proven record in advanced technical writing/copy editing and/or producing knowledge in the areas mentioned in point 1 (please see attached TOR).
• Knowledge of UN, including UNICEF terminology, language and style an advantage.
• It is a preferred requirement that these consultants are already based in India. Non-Indian passport holders are required to provide proof of a valid work permit in India at the time of submitting the application. Please note, applicants holding business visas will not be considered.
