Campaign Communicator – UNI Global Union

UNI Global Union is looking for an innovative and experienced Campaign Communicator to join its communications team.

UNI, the global trade union for private sector service workers, is a dynamic organisation that represents over 20 million workers in 900 unions around the world in a range of sectors including, finance, telecom and IT and retail.

The Campaign Communicator will focus on developing communications messages, strategies and tools to help UNI win campaigns for workers’ rights around the world. They will write campaign materials, including leaflets, newsletters, website articles, updates to social media and press releases as well as do outreach to journalists and bloggers. They will also work with our web programmer, videographers and graphic designers to produce compelling and persuasive multimedia campaign materials.

The Campaign Communicator reports to the Head of Communications and will work closely with UNI sectors and its campaigning department. UNI Communications is a small and dynamic team so the ability to take on a variety of tasks is essential. Along with campaign communications duties, the Campaign Communicator will be asked to contribute to basic communications team tasks.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a campaign communicator and, specifically, writing press and publicity materials. Experience on union campaigns is preferable;
  • Ability to write and speak English at professional native-speaker level. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage but not essential;
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and systems.
