Field Officer-Agronomy
The foundation "Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung Africa Limited" focuses on Promoting sustainable development through the implementation of hands-on projects that lead to improving working and living conditions of small-scale coffee farmers. Its activities concentrate on the economic and social development of producer communities by strengthening competitiveness, encouraging farmer organizations, creating better market linkages and promoting access to important support services towards sustainable coffee farming enabling a long-term use of natural resources, complementary, enhancing the conditions and challenges of the farmers and their families is considered equally important. Acting as a facilitator, HRMS is characterized by its unique network including organizations from the private as well as the public sector, pooling extensive knowledge together to one base.
Position: Field Officer-Agronomy (Nakaseke District)
Reporting to: The Field Operations Manager-Luwero
Your Main duties will be:
• Implementing an effective agricultural system focusing on improving coffee husbandry at farmer level.
• Coordinating with other field workers of the project and district authorities.
• Assisting small holder coffee farmers to improve quality and marketing of coffee as well as to monitor all farm level operations
• Proper collaboration with the gender focal persons and ensuring equitable participation of men and women in all activities of the program and projects, in particular the decision making process.
Job requirement
Specific requirements:
• You should have an agricultural qualification at degree or diploma level.
• Expert knowledge in sustainable coffee farming systems, with a minimum of 5 years experience in extension work within rural locations.
• Highly self motivated and disciplined with good communication skills.
• You should be computer literate.
• Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding license.
