| Job description Integrated Technology Delivery (ITD) brings together all of IBM's worldwide service delivery capabilities for Strategic Outsourcing with strong local and regional management teams supported by a set of three global competencies, Security, Asset & Risk Management (SARM), End User Support (EUS), and Server Systems Operations (SSO). ITD's mission is to leverage IBM’s global scale and advanced technology to deliver standardized solutions that are more automated, repeatable and globally integrated. The Server Planner is a role within IBM's Infrastructure Resource Management (IRM) team. Server Planners are responsible for server equipment in the data centers and perform the necessary physical work in conjunction with the remote server support teams. Work would include participation in various stages of the following: Hardware/Facilities Planning Cabinet and Cabling Management Network Management EReq, SpacePlan, Asset Activity Forms Server Builds/Refresh Server Decommission and Disposal Server Moves / Relocation Server Support/Steady State Incidents First level hardware support Audit/Compliance Management Server Asset Management Disaster Recovery Skills required to peform this role would include: Server hardware experience, including building, racking, etc. Data Center knowledge including Raised floor standards Excellent problem solving techniques Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to coordinate with other competencies both local and remote OS skills required in server builds on Windows, Linux and Unix platforms SAN cabling knowledge | |||||||||||
