Challenging the irresponsible arms trade and promoting strict control of international transfers of military, security and policing equipment are high profile issues. Our campaigns on the human rights abuses linked to them needs to be stronger than ever. As part of our global campaign for an effective Arms Trade Treaty that helps protect human rights, you’ll be critical to its success.

About the role

Harnessing your determination to end human rights abuses wherever you find them, you’ll work with our Military, Security and Police staff and international network to develop strategies for the international campaign on the Arms Trade Treaty and for other vital actions to control arms. And as well as planning, managing and coordinating international actions, you’ll be a constant source of support and advice for advocates and campaign activists worldwide.

About you

An experienced, enthusiastic strategic campaigner, you’ll already have a background in arms control and human rights. So you’ll be well aware of how crucial factors – from the media to the political environment – can influence the outcome of your work. What’s more, you’ll have a real flair for strategic thinking, and putting your points across convincingly both face to face and in writing. And of course, you’ll have honed a wide array of vital skills – including the ability to use creative campaigning techniques, manage more than one project at a time and deliver to deadline.

About us

Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Already our network of almost three million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. And whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
