Procurement and Logistics Analyst

PSI is seeking a Procurement and Logistics Analyst to provide support to its procurement and logistics function. This position will have interaction with the local and international staff of PSI, as well as with a wide variety of suppliers and PSI business partners. This position reports to the Director and is based in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Track and report quarterly and yearly departmental and organizational productivity and overall cost effectiveness
  • Track and report PSI's Monthly Executive Financials
  • Research new product specifications, standards, and suppliers
  • Evaluate new vendors and products per PSI and international standards
  • Responsible for drafting and maintaining consultant agreements and processing consultant services purchase order
  • Assist in Invitation for Bids process by performing references and financial analysis
  • Maintain and/or develop department database systems
  • Conduct surveys to solicit feedback from relevant constituents and analyze results
  • Maintain and update PSI product artwork database
  • Update procurement and logistics manuals
  • Develop field guides for procurement, logistics, warehousing and storage
  • Liaise with PSI field offices on quality assurance and external reporting matters
  • Support the department's capacity building activities
  • Provide general administrative support
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-driven position
  • Research quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Spreadsheet-building skills and detail-orientation
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • An ability to perform a variety of tasks with varying levels of responsibilities
  • Commitment to deadlines
  • Familiarity with Lawson and other ERP systems
  • Advanced oral and written French language skills highly desired
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with fellow team members and other PSI departments
  • Ability to set priorities, with flexibility in the face of changing priorities and deadlines
  • Candidate must possess sound judgment, follow through on assignments, and have experience using word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet software.

    Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of an additional foreign language; experience in a non-profit and/or international development organization; familiarity with international health issues (particularly HIV/AIDS, family planning, maternal and child health); knowledge of USAID and the international donor community; and an interest in private sector approaches to development.
