Afghanistan Partnerships Coordinator

AKF,A currently manages and implements the largest, multi-sectoral development programme within the network and has built a strong reputation with the Government of Afghanistan, donors and local partners in a number of technical fields. At present, it is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Partnerships Coordinator at its National Program Office Kabul – Afghanistan

Job Summary: Grant management coordinator, support AKF’s integrated and cross-sector development programming. Produce high quality reporting, share successes and lessons from programming. Ensure good knowledge management and coordination of grants internally, and facilitate better integration between programs and sectors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Grants Management: Comprehensive management of multi-sector donors and AKDN funds. National focal point for Cross-Border projects, in partnership with the Program Management Support Officer (PMSO) Cross-Border. Ensure program and sector understanding of donor commitments and contractual compliance, in support of the Partnerships Manager. • Reporting: Preparation of relevant and timely donor reports, managing contribution from field and sector staff and ensuring adequate data collection, relevant case studies and key lessons learnt. • Impact Monitoring: Ensure coordination between sector coordinators and the Evaluation, Research and Learning Unit (ERLU), in order to produce relevant data and outcome/impact information for donor reporting. • Financial monitoring: Work with the Finance Department to monitor expenditure against grants, adequately and timely addressing reasons for variance. • Strategic Communications: Work with the Communications Team to develop case studies and communications materials for external audiences, regularly and as requested. • Integration between sectors: Ensure regular communication with PMSOs and sector staff in the field on regional/national developments, and work with other National Managers and Coordinators to develop innovative linkages and knowledge sharing between sectors and programs. Organize biannual Grants Management Team meetings and PMSO exposure visits to the different regional offices in liaison with the Director of Policy and Partnerships. • Knowledge Management: Keep thorough electronic records on all relevant grants with regularly tracking through the database. • Conduct focused research and program reviews.

Required Qualifications and Experience: • Master’s degree in relevant field and at least three years of field experience in a similar or relevant field; • Two to Three years of experience in the relevant field; • Experience working in a multicultural environment, preferably in a post-conflict one; • Excellent English written and verbal skills; knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto will be an advantage; • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; • Ability to critically analyze and provide constructive recommendations;
• Good team player with ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues;
• Willingness to live and work in a post-conflict zones
