Pathstone Mental Health is Niagara's primary provider of treatment for children unitl their 18th birthday. Pathstone provides services to more than 4,000 children and youth per year and to over 1,500 parents, guardians and adults.
We offer a broad range of programs and services at no cost, which are delivered by highly qualified professionals, to strengthen children and families.

The Psychometrist (Intake and Assessment) as part of hte Community-based Mental Health Workers - Pathstone Programs Team provides therapeutic treatment to children, youth, and families based on evidenced-based practices.
Positions within the Pathstone Program Team will be deployed as waitlists dictate to specific programs which may include intake and assessment and counselling services.
All applicants must possess a current police records check with six (6) months.
This is a thirty-five (35) hour work week and requires flexibility in hours of work. This is a unionized position.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides evidence-based treatment to children, youth and their families in a clinical setting.
2. Works in collaboration with assessment, residential, crisis, day treatment, and intensive support services to ensure comprehensive treatment planning and delivery of integrated services.
3. May supervise Master’s level students.
4. May provide specialized services including Sexual Treatment to high-risk clients.
5. May undertake specialized assessments and take lead role in assessments
6. Documents contacts and processes as per agency formats and standards with joint responsibilities for treatment plans as multidisciplinary teams require.
7. Liaises as required with other agencies, schools, paediatricians, and psychiatrists.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Adheres to the organizational policies and procedures of Pathstone Mental Health.
2. Maintains documentation and records in accordance with established policies and standards.
- Completes monthly service statistics.
- Participates in staff and regular service meetings as required.
5. Participates in relevant in-service training/conferences/seminars and workshops for the purpose of
professional development within service plan goals and financial limits.
- Participates in the setting and implementation of organizational and individual goals and objectives.
7. Other duties as assigned.
HEALTH and SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assume responsibility for a safe work environment and safe working practices.
i. Work in a safe manner and maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
ii. Report unsafe situations and conditions to immediate supervisor for resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ø M.S.W., M.A or equivalent. (All clinical positions require registration or ability to be registered with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or College of Psychologists);
Ø 2 years clinical experience
Ø Experience and /or training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions in assessments, individual, family, and group therapy, and brief solution focused treatment,
Ø Preference will be given to candidates bilingual in French and English
Ø Experience working with the Aboriginal community is an asset
Ø Good communication and organizational skills
Ø Valid driver’s licence, able to supply own vehicle, and be insurable to drive in Ontario
