Humanitarian Training Coordinator, London based Contract Length: 12 months with possible extension Salary: £30,917 per annum With regular travel – up to 3 months

ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE THE EXISTING RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK This is an exciting opportunity to work with key external partners in the humanitarian community at field and HQ level, to improve the quality of humanitarian response for the most vulnerable. HelpAge International has a vision of a world in which all older people can lead dignified, active, healthy and secure lives. We work with our partners in humanitarian crises to ensure that older people are sufficiently integrated into response and can enjoy their right to food, healthcare, and economic and physical security.
The Humanitarian Training Coordinator will work alongside HelpAge programmes to develop and deliver training to local and international stakeholders engaged in humanitarian response, to build their capacity to improve support for older people. The post holder will develop training materials in line with international and humanitarian principles and standards using a range of learning activities and methodologies to meet the needs of humanitarian partners. They will also deliver sensitization sessions with senior level humanitarian policy makers.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of field based humanitarian work, and understanding of vulnerability and capacity analysis. They will have experience of building capacity within the sector including delivering training for humanitarian audiences. An understanding of core humanitarian issues such as needs analysis; project cycles; humanitarian principles; coordination systems and quality and accountability initiatives is essential.
