Associate Director, Operations & Finance, Emergency Health & Nutrition

Save the Children is looking for a strategic leader to manage our family planning and reproductive health in emergencies program. The Associate Director, Operations and Finance, Emergency Health & Nutrition will establish and supervise the operational strategy for the program, including grant and financial management, monitor and report on program objectives, and oversee the general operational implementation of the program. S/he will manage the program commodities, as well as the knowledge/learning gathered from the field programs and the DC office. S/he will supervise the coordination of trainings, administration and finance.

Responsibilities

• Play significant role in strategic thinking and leadership in advancing emergency family planning programs; manage strategic and operational planning to achieve program goals and objectives. • Develop, in consultation with technical staff, the design and management of the program. Ensure high quality programs through regular monitoring and oversight • Develop and oversee strategy and systems for management of large grant portfolio. Ensure compliance with Save the Children's operational policies and regulations for sub-granting and grant management. • Responsible for oversight of program documentation and reporting for HQ and country programs. Develop and monitor strategy and plan for documenting program accomplishments, lessons-learned and innovation. • Develop strategy for and manage the family planning commodities and supplies to country offices. • Manage Coordinator and Finance Manager; other duties as required. Requirements • BA, MBA, or MA in management, or international relations preferred. • Minimum 3 years experience managing international health programs, preferably in family planning/reproductive health • 5-7 years experience in finance and grants management of USAID and other donor supported programs • Excellent presentation skills and English verbal and written communications skills; other language skills a plus • Knowledge of USAID and other donor programming priorities and technical requirements, including grants, sub-grants agreements and technical assistance support • Ability to interact with established networks of senior level international health professionals; ability to work both independently and as a team member with a diversity of headquarters, field office , and partner agency staff. • Comfortable with a team approach to programming and the ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines simultaneously • Proven experience in grants management and establishing and maintaining tracking and reporting systems • Able to prepare succinct and focused reports. • Experience with key international organizations working in maternal, newborn, and child health (e.g. donors, academic institutions, and USAID-funded Cooperation Agencies). • Demonstrated experience in management of multiple staff • Computer literacy in word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, database, and statistical software packages
