Humanitarian Support Personnel – Helios Process Advisor
£24,245 - £30,853 net
Oxfam offers a wide range of benefits, including over 43 days holiday/TOIL per year, pension and medical cover, and accommodation costs covered during deployments.
Home-based with international deployments

In the immediate aftermath of war and natural disasters, getting the right goods to the right people is vital to preventing further suffering. To enable Oxfam to act quickly, our rapid deployment teams are ready to respond at short notice to these dramatic and challenging situations around the globe. We’re now looking for a seasoned logistician or expert in supply chain management to join the team.

The role
Oxfam has the logistical and capacity to support emergency and development programmes wherever they arise next. You’ll be among the first on the ground, ensuring our frontline teams have all the support they need to practise efficient, good-quality supply chain management to deliver the right goods to the right people at the right time.

You’ll enter each deployment as an expert in standard supply chain processes and procedures and Helios software, operating the standard process yourself as well as training up field teams in its use. You’ll also be a Helios champion, supporting management efforts to keep logistics and supply chain management integrated into overall programme delivery. Plus your country-level analysis of supply chain layout and process, resource and skills gaps will help shape the programme delivery and make improvements for future deployments.

What we’re looking for
Extensive logistics experience in a humanitarian context will have given you detailed knowledge of supply chain management process and procedures. That won’t just help you support software applications; allied to your excellent people skills, it will enable you to train others too. You’ll have the planning skills and sound judgement to make good decisions in complex situations with multiple stakeholders. But more than that, you’ll have the powers of persuasion to influence senior figures in effecting meaningful business change. Some experience of using supply chain management or similar software applications would be useful; equally so the ability to speak working-level French. And of course you’ll have to be extremely flexible, ready to travel across the world at a moment’s notice to work on the front line and get help to those who need it most.

About Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in the world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
