SALARY: (1) Mission Policy is to hire LES employees at step 1 of the grade. The current annual salary for an LES-7, step 1 is L.E. 62,832.

The US Embassy in Cairo is seeking an individual for the position of Alumni Coordinator in the Public Affairs Office.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Incumbent works under the supervision of the ACAO and Cultural Affairs Specialist, and in consultation with and direction from the ECA alumni coordinator in Washington, the Alumni Coordinator is responsible for promoting greater contact with and cooperation among alumni of USG-sponsored exchange programs.
The goal is to increase involvement of alumni and related Mission contacts in areas where they can promote USG goals. The incumbent accomplishes this goal by: developing and implementing an alumni outreach strategy; preparing and disseminating news and information of general interest to alumni; maintaining an alumni database that interfaces with the ECA Alumni Archive; creating/maintaining country and/or program communities on State Alumni; contributing content to this website and coordinating the promotion of the State Alumni website among the different alumni audiences throughout the country; and creating an electronic directory for different alumni.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. University degree in the liberal arts, education, social sciences, international relations or related fields is required.
2. Two years progressively responsible experience in programming activities, international relations or related field, preferably in a bilingual setting is required.
3. Level IV written and spoken English and Arabic level III is required.
SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and
US Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold an FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
