The University of Western Sydney (UWS) is a large multi-campus university servicing a diverse range of students.

From 2012, the academic structure of UWS will comprise ten Schools, being organisational groups of staff and students which may be located over several campuses. The Dean of each School reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor, and is responsible for the strategic development and management of the School's academic offerings, research profile, services to students and enterprise culture, within the overall objectives and strategic and policy framework of the University.

The School of Law is committed to excellence and innovation in teaching, research and community engagement. It has a research focus on International Governance (including environmental law and corporate social responsibility); Medico-Legal issues (including elder law) and Legal Education.

The School offers LLB and combined LLB degrees, as well as providing law teaching for business degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. LLB programs are taught at Parramatta and Campbelltown, while Law teaching in business degrees is taught across the University. Student load in the School of Law is approximately 1,800 EFTSL.

Associate Lecturer in Law will be involved in a range of academic activities, coordination and teaching of units in relevant areas across the School. S/he will also be expected to carry out research and supervise undergraduate (honours) students in their area including the of expertise, and to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Head of Program.

The position will primarily teach into the LLB core subjects and/or the interdisciplinary law units.

The University reserves the right to appoint at Academic Level A (Associate Lecturer) or Academic Level B (Lecturer) depending upon the skills, qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Remuneration Package (comprising Salary, 17% Superannuation and Leave Loading): There will be a 5% salary increase scheduled for 11 May 2012.

Academic Level A $76,347 to $92,239 p.a. (base Salary $64,514 to $77,943)
Academic Level B $96,915 to $114,361 p.a. (base Salary $81,894 to $96,703)
