Chairholder of the “European Neighbourhood Policy Chair”

College of Europe - Natolin (Warsaw)

The College of Europe is seeking candidates for the “European Neighbourhood Policy Chair” at the Natolin (Warsaw) campus. This post can be full time or part time (minimum 50%). It covers the period of 2012-2014 with an expected starting date on 1st February 2012.

The Chair will focus on the study of the European Neighbourhood Policy (Eastern and Southern dimensions).

Requirements:

  • a Ph.D, preferably in international relations, political sciences, law or economy;
  • a proven track record of research and teaching excellence in the field of the European Neighbourhood Policy (Eastern and Southern dimensions) that led to scientific publications;
  • a significant experience in teaching at postgraduate level and in the supervision of postgraduate students;
  • a good knowledge of the European Union;
  • a very good command of English and French;
  • a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.

Tasks include:

The Chairholder is expected to be effectively present on the Natolin campus during the academic year.

  • The Chairholder will be responsible for the supervision of master's theses dealing with the European Neighbourhood Policy;
  • The Chairholder will engage in research focusing on European Neighbourhood Policy and leading to academic publications;
  • The Chairholder will be involved in the selection of students benefitting from scholarships offered by the Chair;
  • The Chairholder will be involved in additional activities linked to the Chair (e.g. conferences, seminars, guest lectures);
  • The Chairholder will be a member of the European Interdisciplinary Faculty (Natolin Campus) and will work under the authority of the Rector of the College of Europe in cooperation with the Director of studies.

The Chair would also include a secretary, an academic assistant and two senior research fellows.
