Child Protection Technical Advisor

Save the Children in South Sudan (SCiSS) is seeking to recruit a Child Protection Advisor based in Juba with regular travel to the field locations.

The purpose of the job is to support the quality design, delivery and representation of Save the Children’s Child Protection programming in South Sudan.

Key Accountabilities -Design a comprehensive, multi-year Child Protection strategy for Save the Children in South Sudan (SCiSS), in line with SCiSS’s overall country strategy, with strong linkage and integration across thematic programmes and stemming from research of external context and needs. -Lead the roll out and implementation of this child protection strategy and development of effective operating plan. -Serve as the point of contact for all matters related to child protection issues at the national level.Work at the policy level with high-level decision makers from the government, participating in strategy development, policy making, and technical discussions, as well as negotiating to determine priorities for development.

Person specifications -A good degree in Human Rights, Public International Law, International Relations or related fields. -Minimum 5 years international field experience in humanitarian work in child protection and/or human rights related fields -Substantial progressive, professional-level experience at the management level with background in strengthening child protection systems at both the institutional and community level.
