PhD Scholarships in Politics, International Relations and History

Brunel University has a thriving postgraduate population that attracts students from 110 countries worldwide and our research is internationally recognised, as evidenced by the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008). The School of Social Sciences at Brunel University has a strong multi-disciplinary research culture and the Politics and History department has received RAE scores in the top third of UK universities. Our academic staff have research interests in a wide range of areas and advise governmental and intergovernmental organisations, bringing this real world experience to their teaching and research.

Scholarships are available for UK, EU and international students who can demonstrate academic excellence, innovative thinking and a commitment to ground-breaking and original research.

Each scholarship is valued at £12,372 per annum over three years full-time, which includes a fee waiver of £3,732 and a stipend of £9,000. An additional fee contribution for international students may be available for exceptional candidates.
