General requirements: The generic minimum requirements are applicable to all posts, in addition to where it is specified differently, are as follows: • Competency in the post-specific core functions of the advertised post • Fluency in at least two official languages of which one must be English • Computer literacy • Interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and organisational skills.

Salary level 3: R71 196 per annum (Ref. SA: 09/2011/12)

Additional requirements
: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 qualification.

Functions
: • Answer telephone and transfer telephone calls • Accurate recordkeeping and efficient administration by administering all incoming and outgoing correspondence • Establish and maintain coordinated administration by maintaining a bring-forward system • Ensure good order and adherence to prescripts related to administration.

All instructions on the application form must be adhered to, since failure to do so may result in the application being rejected. The post particulars and reference number of the post must be correctly specified on the application (one reference number per application) • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae must be submitted together with the application form • Certified copies of applicant’s ID document, (unendorsed) motor vehicle driver’s licence (Police Act appointments), all school and tertiary qualifications obtained (with academic records), must also be attached to every application • Persons who retired from the Public Service by taking a severance package, early retirement or for medical reasons, as well as persons with previous convictions, are excluded • All criminal/disciplinary convictions and/or pending cases whether criminal or departmental must be clearly indicated on the application form • Applications must be mailed timeously. Late applications will not be accepted or considered • If a candidate is short-listed, it can be expected of him/her to undergo a personal interview as well as a competency assessment • The South African Police Services will verify the residential addresses and qualifications of applicants, as well as citizenship. Reference checking will be conducted on all short-listed applicants • Short-listed candidates will be subjected to a security clearance • Correspondence will be conducted with successful candidates only.
