Timor-Leste Family Planning Technical Advisor

We are seeking for a Family Planning Technical Advisor to provide support to the Timor Leste Ministry of Health under a new USAID funded Health Improvement Project.

The purposes of the Timor-Leste “Health Improvement Project” (HIP) are to: a)improve reproductive, maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH) behaviours and outcomes; b)improve MNCH, service delivery through Ministry of Health (MOH) service delivery sites; and, c)increase community engagement around key MNCH issues, with emphasis on family planning (FP) in selected districts.

The HIP will focus its efforts at reaching: •Health providers at the district, sub-district and community levels; •Women of Reproductive Age (WRA); and •Children under five years of age.

HIP will include technical emphasis on the concepts of Safe Motherhood, Neonatal, Child Health and related maternal and infant nutrition in an integrated approach. The program should focus on the following technical areas:

•Maternal and newborn health; •Family Planning; and •Child Health.

The Family Planning Technical Advisor role is for 18 months. Consequently we are looking for someone with family planning experience, preferably with a clinical background who can also demonstrate the ability to work with and build the skills of a low capacity workforce.
