PROJECT MANAGER/MOUSSORO Location : Moussoro, Chad Global C1 Salary : £24,245 - 30,853 Length of contract : Fixed term 1 year OXFAM PURPOSE: To work with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering. JOB PURPOSE: - Ensuring strong emphasis on a participatory approach with emphasis on women, local & traditional authorities.
- Field team leadership. Ensuring good team environment, accountability and close links with local, traditional authorities and partners (two main partners: CELIAF / National women's confederation and AIDER Regional development NGO.
- Excellent flow of information and adequate communication with N'Djamena office and the regional center ensuring efficient interaction with technical advisory teams and support areas
Ensuring the following of OGB mandatory procedures and good practices
REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports to: Country Director Staff reporting to this post: International and national staff; around 20 people
- To line manage designated staff ensuring adequate and effective working environment
- Ensure adequate performance management of the entire team assigned
- Ensure that all staff under the structure are aware of and abide with key internal and external protocols and principles (e.g. Code of Conduct, People in Aid, Oxfam's sexual conduct policy)
- Represent the organization in the region with the local and traditional authorities ensuring adequate consultation and community engagement
- Managing the budget ensuring updated and systematic monitoring of the execution
- Keeping updated systems to avoid fraud and corruption; ensuring accountability mechanism with women's and beneficiaries involvement
- Provide regular and effective communication to country staff, partners, local and traditional authorities.
- Overall responsible of the security in the area of operations keeping a monitoring system and Standard Operational Procedures updated to ensure that levels of risk for the operation are acceptable.
Skills, Experience & Knowledge Gender sensitivity (E) Knowledge of Human Resource management, including experience of managing multicultural team and managing staff working under difficult conditions. (E) Understanding and experience of field management principles and their practical application. (E) Experience of implementing projects on remote areas with cultural sensibilities. (E) Knowledge and experience of managing projects at the field level, including reporting, risk management and community based approach. (E) Knowledge of OGB mandatory procedures and good practices. (D) Fluent in French. (E) Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (E) Experience working on women's rights (D) Knowledge of Arabic (D) Experience working in very conservative cultures e.g. Traditional Muslim. (D)
