Public Safety Operations Data Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Lawful Access, the Data Analyst will be responsible for the administrative support of the Public Safety Operations (PSO) team. Other functions will include the direct interaction with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), handling legal requests, analyzing data, and preparing appropriate responses under the supervision of a Compliance Manager or Team Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administration of received legal requests by opening case files, directing incoming calls, and organizing shared mailboxes and electronically stored files
  • Preparing letters of acknowledgment to the LEAs upon receipt of a legal order
  • Responding to Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) requests including some legal orders as required
  • Coordinating with Legal Counsel on PSO processes, such as providing legal service instructions
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives for the PSO team by identifying improvements necessary in CMS (system tracking all of the files for PSO)
  • Validating and authenticating credentials of LEAs

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant field
  • At least one (1) year or experience in the legal field or related area
  • Strong interest in criminal law and working with law enforcement agencies and call centre experience or experience interfacing with LEAs preferred
  • Must be eligible for a Government Security Clearance
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Must be well organized and able to multi-task
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to make continuous process improvements
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build internal and external relationships
  • Ability to work with difficult individuals
  • Fluency in another language preferred
  • Standby availability outside regular business hours
