VACANCIES FOR SENIOR LEVEL ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the senior level administrative positions listed below, to take effect from 1st August, 2012.VACANCIES FOR SENIOR LEVEL ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
POSITION (10): College Registrar, College of Health Sciences
Headed by a Provost, the College of Health Sciences is presently constituted by six Schools, five of which are of the status of a faculty, a non- departmentalized school and a research Institute.
School of Allied Health Sciences
University of Ghana Dental School
University of Ghana Medical School
School of Nursing
School of Public Health
Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research
School of Pharmacy
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the Registrar, the College Registrar is head of the administrative support system in the College and is expected to work closely with the Offices of the Provost, Deans and Director.
The College Registrar is expected to provide leadership in the administrative and professional services provided within the College in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed by the University Act and Statutes, or as may be determined by the University Council, the College Council the Academic Board and the College Academic Board.
The service areas include:
Academic Affairs
Human Resource Management
Financial Affairs
Student Affairs
Physical facilities management
Servicing of Boards and Committees
Information Technology Services
Strategic planning and management
QUALIFICATIONS:
i. The candidate should either :
a) be of at least Deputy Registrar status from an academic/research institution; or,
b) possess a Master’s degree with a minimum of 15 years relevant working experience at management level.
ii. In addition, the applicant must have:
a) considerable strategic, interpersonal and collegial skills that will enable him/her to function within the Higher Education Sector;
b) good business sense with a deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational issues in top-level University management and administration.
c) high-level analytical skills and demonstrable evidence of competence and leadership.
POSITION (11): Director, Counseling and Placement Centre
REPORTING TO: Registrar
The Counseling and Placement Centre offers comprehensive professional counseling as well as career and placement services to all members of the University, including students and alumni.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

(i) Completed application form for Senior Level Administrative Positions (UAB Form 1C) to be downloaded from the University’s website at www.ug.edu.gh/hrodd.
(ii) An up to date Curriculum Vitae.
(iii) A statement of up to 5-pages indicating how one intends to use the period in office to address relevant issues that will ensure that the University achieves its vision and mission.
