Accelerator Research Division Director

SLAC is seeking a Division Director for the Accelerator Research Division (ARD) in the Accelerator Directorate.
The SLAC ARD is world-renowned as a center for accelerator physics. ARD has a broad research program ranging from fundamental beam physics, to FEL related physics, to novel acceleration techniques with lasers and plasmas at the forefront of high gradient acceleration. ARD is the host for design studies for a wide variety of facilities such as LCLS-II, ILC, CLIC, ATF2, HL-LHC, Super-B, PEP-X, SPEAR3 upgrades, Project X and Muon Collider, covering the whole spectrum of ring and linac based accelerator physics. ARD also operates test facilities for advanced accelerator R&D.
Accelerator Research is one of the three main missions of SLAC and is a key to the laboratory’s future. SLAC aims to remain a premier accelerator laboratory in the United States. The ARD Director is a division director in the Accelerator Directorate. The ARD director is expected to participate in the development of the research portfolio. The ARD director also interfaces with the Particle Physics and Photon Science faculty to enhance the interaction between the laboratory staff and Stanford University.
