KIPP Through College Director


About the Position:
The KIPP Through College (KTC) program is responsible for implementing programming for KIPP GCP alumni to ensure that they graduate from the colleges of their choice empowered with a life of opportunity. The Director of KTC is responsible for providing leadership, management and support of this program. The Director of KTC will report to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Upholding KIPP GCP’s mission and professional values;
  • Attending and participating in professional development program as planned and scheduled with sustained attention to constant learning and improvement.
  • Implementing the KTC 10-year Strategic Plan ensuring that it aligns with KIPP GCP’s vision and goals;
  • Leading and executing the KIPP Foundation’s Program for College Completion, College Partnership Initiative and College Connections Initiative;
  • Managing the KTC budget and collaborating with the Executive Director to ensure accurate financial reporting and responsible budget development;
  • Managing KTC communication, events and services focused on college readiness, college access, college persistence, and college completion;
  • Managing student and college data in the KIPP Database;
  • Managing the KTC Staff;
  • Serving as point person for regional communication around KTC programming, initiatives, and new developments;
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationship with colleges, universities, outreach programs and scholarship organizations;
  • Developing strategic partnerships with organizations that help prepare alumni for success in college, including providing academic support, summer opportunities and employment opportunities; and

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven track record of helping educationally underserved students and their families navigate college admission, financial aid and scholarship applications
  • Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative
  • Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail; outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Extreme flexibility, with a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate high level of responsibility and multiple priorities
  • Ability to manage the entrepreneurial challenges of creating a new organization including partnership creation and the development of systems and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a fluid environment and with a wide range of constituents, including parents, students, school staff and colleges and universities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Passion for the mission of KIPP Gaston College Preparatory Public Schools
