Statoil is an international energy company with operations in 37 countries. Building on 40 years of experience from oil and gas production on the Norwegian continental shelf, we are committed to accommodating the world's energy needs in a responsible manner, applying technology and creating innovative business solutions. Statoil is headquartered in Norway with 21,000 employees worldwide, and is listed on the New York and Oslo stock exchanges.
Forewind is a consortium comprising four leading European energy companies: RWE, Statoil, Statkraft and SSE. Forewind exists to deliver government consent for financially-viable, buildable, and safe offshore wind farm projects on Dogger Bank. In doing so, forewind must meet its obligations to the crown estate, which has responsibility for the sea bed, as set out in the zone development agreement (ZDA), signed December 2009. The Dogger Bank zone is an area of 8660km2, c.125-195km off the east coast of Yorkshire; water depths vary from c.20-60m. Our target is to deliver a minimum of 9GW of capacity as agreed with the crown estate, although the maximum potential is estimated at c.13GW. The agreement with the crown estate sets out milestones that must be delivered during the course of developing wind farms on Dogger Bank.
The offshore environmental impact assesment (EIA) manager has overall responsibility for the co-ordination, management and production of all environmental impact assessments performed by the forewind development team through the development process for the offshore wind farm zone.
