PA&C Director – Strategic Corporate Communications

Position Overview:


  • Provide proactive and reactive communications leadership across the Greater China BU that positively shifts perceptions amongst key external audiences/stakeholders (media, governments, NGOs, and Key Opinion Leaders)and helps remove barriers facing business growth

  • Identify and develop actionable relationships with key stakeholders externally (media and subject matter experts) and internally within the Company (system associates, BU leadership members), including broad engagement and coordination with bottler partners, and work with these relations to implement communications strategies and action plans

  • Work closely with Pacific PA&C and Corporate Media team to lead and strengthen the creation and delivery of more scalable integrated and effective external communication and engagement platforms

  • Manage effectively the resources and capabilities required to consistently deliver high-calibre results
Key Result Areas

  • Define and deliver a three year communications framework and platform (including Project Sparkle under Refresh 2020) for the Greater China BU to engage key external audiences and proactively tell our sustainable growth story and positively impact the market and minimize the negative;

  • Deliver scale and impact by driving pro-active communications focused on high level leverage events and occasions, provide consistent clear messages, stories, allies/ambassadors point of view and proof points about our business and the issues and barriers we face;

  • Develop, manage and embed key tools and processes to ensure consistency and quality of communications across the Greater China BU. Ensure delivery of high impact digital, print and video communication messages and materials that effectively tell the Company story and address barriers to growth;

  • Build best in class media relations capability within the Greater China BU through people development and adoption of best practice to drive consistent ways of working;

  • Ensure proactive, pre-emptive issues identification and define and create communications strategies to most appropriately address the issues. Develop clear messaging in a common format that can be used in response to identified issues, in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders;

  • Support relevant internal stakeholders in building best in class Issues Management and Crisis Resolution communications systems and processes as well as capability to ensure readiness for rapid response to issues that impact busines

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience:


  • Minimum 10 years' experience working in a communications related field;

  • Experience in leading and influencing communications within a large, complex,  and matrix organization;

  • Knowledgeable about developing leading edge communications and technical solutions and practiced in the implementation of these across media - traditional and social;

  • Strong track record of helping to create change and shifting audience perceptions - particularly related to issues management;

  • Thorough understanding of communications planning and in-depth knowledge and experience of the range and variety of communications channels, platforms and processes to ensure the right communication reaches the target audience at the right time and in the right tone

  • Excellent media relations and network
Education & Professional Qualification:
Bachelor degree in Public Affairs / Communications / Journalism


Language Requirements:
Highly fluent written, oral and interpersonal skills in Mandarin and English


Travel Requirements:

Travel up to 25% of work time under normal conditions
