Job Purpose
  • The Programme Manager is primarily responsible for delivery of Business Information (BI) projects within Etihad IT. As such, it is imperative that the Programme Manager works across all Etihad departments to build a Data Warehouse, giving a single version of the truth to Etihad Senior management.
  • The Programme Manager will be recognized as a subject matter expert, and will work extensively with specialist suppliers as well as business leaders within Etihad. The Programme Manager will combine highly visible leadership within BI, to develop the BI practice and its core service offerings. The Programme Manager will demonstrate an ability to collaborate with teams both within and outside IT, have the leadership to work with minimal supervision, and the critical perspective to create delivery models, processes, frameworks, and architectures that can refine and enhance BI IT Projects.
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that BI Programme delivers high quality information to Etihad to drive decision making. 
  • Leads the definition, implementation and review of the BI portfolio management framework. Authorises the structure of the BI portfolio and is responsible for alignment with business strategy and business objectives. Makes decisions on the prioritisation of resources and the changes to be implemented. Recommends and implements corrective action by engaging and influencing senior management. Leads the on-going monitoring and review of the portfolio for cost, risk, inter-dependencies, impact on current business activities and the strategic benefits to be realised. Is responsible for implementing effective portfolio governance arrangements supported by effective reporting.
  • Takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex BI projects (typically greater than 12 months, with significant business, political, or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies), ensuring that realistic project, quality, change control and risk management processes are maintained. Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget and manages expectations of all project stakeholders.
  • Develops channels and stakeholder groups to manage the many priorities for information for decision making. Initiates communications between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact for defined groups. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders. Captures and disseminates technical and business information. Facilitates the business change decision-making processes, and the planning and implementation of change.
  • Works closely with the Architecture team in Etihad as well as IT operations to ensure all projects conform to architecture standards and are supportable and maintainable. Acts as an exemplar with introducing SOA technology into Etihad, reducing the cost of projects and simplifying maintainability.
RequirementsQualification & Education:
  • University degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Optionally recognised professional Airline Management or Computer Science qualification.
Experience
  • 10+ years of experience leading teams in the area of IT.
  • Extensive experience in project management and risk mitigation, leading multiple teams in successful delivery.
  • Written communication and presentation skills demonstrated through authorship of magazine or journal articles, case studies, and trade conference presentations
  • Experience developing curriculum to train consultants in delivery within the practice area domain.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.
  • Experience creating Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and diagrams to convey complex concepts.
