As a consultant, your job responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing corporate and marketing communications programmes for one of our larger chemical clients, next to possibly handling a small variety of clients or projects in other industries;
  • Translating client challenges into effective strategies and independently driving strategy execution;
  • Issues management and stakeholder engagement, including media relations;
  • Developing and editing high-quality written materials including press releases, fact sheets, backgrounders;
  • Q&As, website content and general client correspondence;
  • Working with senior staff in business development areas that can lead to organic growth within existing clients or to new business opportunities;
  • Mentoring junior staff members;
  • Active involvement in agency initiatives.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Solid communications and media relations experience, ideally with a B2B and/or agency background;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (English native or equivalent is mandatory) and attention to detail; additional languages (Dutch or French) are an asset;
  • Proven ability to build strong client relationships;
  • Proven ability to effectively organise and manage multiple responsibilities in support of internal or external clients in a deadline-driven environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others in both team and independent environments;
  • A commercial mindset and interest in business development;
  • Experience or affinity in working for clients and/or projects in the chemical industry is highly advantageous;
  • Higher education, preferably in Communications or a PR-related discipline;
  • You are curious and enthusiastic, a quick thinker, a strong multi-tasker and you thrive in a fast-paced environment.
