Youth Ambassadors at ONE

Do you want to get more involved in the fight against extreme poverty? Develop new skills in creating change? Join hundreds of other young people for Europe-wide activism?
For the 3rd consecutive year, we are recruiting volunteers across Europe to lead the fight against extreme poverty by campaigning locally, nationally and online. The Youth Ambassador program offers 300 young European citizens, including 40 located in Italy, the opportunity to work alongside the ONE team to encourage stakeholders and policy makers to take concrete measures for the fight against extreme poverty in the world. You will become a leader for the ONE Campaign in your community and beyond, carrying out a variety of creative, ambitious, and innovative actions to support our campaigns.
We are looking for Youth Ambassadors of any European nationality, living in Italy and speaking Italian. At ONE we think youth is a state of mind. Anyone aged 18 – 35 can apply, but we would also like to hear from outstanding candidates who are over 35 but still young at heart!
The programme will run for the whole of 2016 with a launch event in Rome in March, and a ONE Summit that will bring Youth Ambassadors from across Europe together in spring.
You will receive training on how to campaign, lobby decision-makers and talk to the media. You will have the opportunity to attend ONE events, or organise your own, and put your skills into practice in meetings with high-level decision makers.
This ambassadorship is not a full-time or paid role. It is a volunteer role that should not take more than a few hours of your time every week.
To apply, please send your CV and the questionnaire found athttp://www.one.org/international/become-a-one-youth-ambassador-in-italy/ to ItalyYA@one.orgbefore 23:59 CET Sunday the 28th of February.
About the ONE Campaign
ONE is a grassroots advocacy and campaigning organisation with more than 7 million members worldwide that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa. We raise public awareness and pressurise political leaders to support smart and effective policies and programmes that are saving lives, helping to put children in school and improving futures. We hold world leaders to account for the commitments they’ve made to fight extreme poverty, and we campaign for better development policies and more effective aid. We also support greater democracy, accountability and transparency to ensure policies to beat poverty are implemented effectively. ONE is not a grant-making organisation and we do not solicit funding from the general public.
