The Regional Programme Manager (Africa) plays a major role in the newly-created Programme Management Team at CARE International UK (CIUK) and is responsible for building and maintaining a strategic portfolio of development programming in Africa from across our institutional donor base. The post holder will be expected to grow CIUK’s funding and enable us to play a key role in delivering on the CARE International Global Programme Strategy (2015-2020).
About you
We are looking for a dynamic professional who has an excellent understanding and strong track record of success in the UK and European institutional funding environments. The post holder will manage a team of fundraisers, programme and contract managers with a primary focus on sub-Saharan Africa. Direct experience of development work in Africa is a requirement for the role.
About CARE
CARE International UK’s Strategic Plan identifies our core areas of focus. Working with our Women’s Economic Empowerment, Inclusive Governance and Humanitarian teams, the Programme Management Team is responsible for aligning our funding with these focus areas as well as mobilising resources for other core strands of CARE International’s global priorities. Reinforcing our relations and increasing funding from key donors, particularly DFID, will be undertaken in association with our technical teams as well as the new Strategic Funding and Partnerships team.
