Digital Marketing Officer New York

WaterAid America (WAA) seeks a Digital Marketing Officer for a one-year, full-time contract who is passionate about using digital technology to inform, amplify and deliver our mission to ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to safe water and sanitation by 2030. The Officer will manage WAA's online platforms and content to increase brand awareness, engagement and individual donations. Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Engagement and the Communications Manager, the Officer will use her/his technical expertise to inform, amplify and deliver WAA's marketing, communications and fundraising strategies. Evening and weekend work may be required at particular times of the year.
  • Continually deliver fresh content by updating web and email templates with HTML, CSS in Drupal;
  • Lead the seamless technical transition of WAA's US website to a new CMS;
  • Optimize user experience and drive supporter actions with compelling content;
  • Ensure consistency in messaging across digital channels, respond quickly to reactive news moments, and support digital campaigns by working with and across teams;
  • Raise awareness and drive traffic by defining and implementing an SEM strategy (Google AdWords, PPC, paid social, display, etc.);
  • Optimize performance by planning, executing and measuring experiments and conversion tests;
  • Ensure that the WAA website is a well-oiled machine by monitoring performance;
  • Support data-informed decision-making by interpreting analytics across platforms; report on the performance of digital campaigns, assess against goals (ROI and KPIs); provide recommendations to improve tactics and strategies.
The basics
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related degree;
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in digital marketing within an agency or client environment;
  • Experience with CMS (Drupal, a plus);
  • Experience with SEM/ SEO.

  • You are best friends with Google Analytics and Google AdWords. You're actually certified;
  • You understand social media in a professional capacity, including strategy, best practices, marketing and monitoring tools;
  • You understand the digital landscape and the need to respond creatively to trends.
  • You are endlessly curious and enjoy learning new things;
  • You are an expert communicator who can speak clearly and confidently with colleagues at all levels, external suppliers and support teams.
Bonus points
  • You have spent time in the non-profit sector in a digital role;
  • You have used earned media techniques (link building, online PR and blogger outreach) to acquire traffic and conversions;
  • You think Drupal is the bee's knees;
  • You have an understanding of international development issues;
  • You know Blackbaud / Raiser's Edge NXT.
