Manager of Government Affairs , Goodyear IN Diegem, Belgium

The successful candidate will join the Government Affairs team at the Goodyear Headquarters for Europe, Middle East and Africa, in Brussels (Diegem). 

The mission of Government Affairs is to liaise Goodyear EMEA with EU and national policy-makers in Europe in order to contribute to effective legislation.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Holds an advanced University degree, preferably in Law, European Studies, Public Administration or Political Sciences;
  • Has an excellent knowledge of the EU decision-making process;
  • Has minimum 5 years of relevant experience with the EU Institutions and advocacy. Experience with public institutions is an advantage;
  • Has good insights into EU legislation, especially in the fields of environment, chemicals, transport and other related policies;
  • Experience with EU environmental and chemicals policies will be an advantage;
  • Has an eye for strategic implications of policy changes, and good analytical skills;
  • Has strong networking, relationship and communication skills;
  • Is fluent in English both orally and in writing; knowledge of other EU languages is an advantage (ideally French or German);
  • Is a good team player and self-accountable.

Job responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for devising and rolling out advocacy strategies on a number of EU policies related to Goodyear. The Manager Government Affairs will analyze proposals for legislation, and develop the company's positions in close cooperation with extensive networks of internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will represent Goodyear EMEA to policymakers, trade associations and various other external forums in full respect of competition policy and while protecting the company’s name.
