ONE Youth Ambassador

Brussels, Belgium

Do you want to get more involved in the fight against extreme poverty? Develop new skills in creating change? And join hundreds of other young people for Europe-wide activism?

For the 3rd consecutive year, we are recruiting volunteers across Europe to lead the fight against extreme poverty by campaigning locally, nationally and online. The Youth Ambassador program offers 300 young European citizens, including 50 located in Belgium, the opportunity to work alongside the ONE team to encourage stakeholders and policy makers to take concrete measures for the fight against extreme poverty in the world. You will become a leader for the ONE Campaign in your community and beyond, carrying out a variety of creative, ambitious, and innovative actions to support our campaigns.

We are looking for Youth Ambassadors of any European nationality, living in Belgium. At ONE we think youth is a state of mind. Anyone aged 18 – 35 can apply, but we would also like to hear from outstanding candidates who are over 35 but still young at heart!

The programme will run for the whole of 2016 with a launch event in Brussels in March, and a ONE Summit that will bring Youth Ambassadors from across Europe together in spring.

You will receive training on how to campaign, lobby decision-makers and talk to the media. You will have the opportunity to attend ONE events, or organise your own, and put your skills into practice in meetings with high-level decision makers.

This ambassadorship is not a full-time or paid role. It is a volunteer role that should not take more than a few hours of your time every week.

To apply, please send your CV and the questionnaire found at http://www.one.org/international/take-action/become-a-one-youth-ambassador-belgium/ to yabelgium@one.org before 23:59 CET Sunday the 28th of February. Applications must be in English.
