Internship: Fundraising and Communications

TWB has a six month internship vacancy to fill. Location: Flexible
The role: To build awareness of Translators without Borders and the organization’s work to increase access to critical information and knowledge and to manage fundraising activities and fundraising opportunities.
**Responsibilities***
· Assist the Director of External Affairs in managing fundraising initiatives
· Proactively scope out funding opportunities from a variety of sources
· Assist the Director of External Affairs in the preparation for events and conferences
· Use social media to build brand awareness globally
· Draft content for press releases and awareness materials ; assist in dissemination
· Create or update material for outreach activities (e.g. newsletter, blogs posts, fundraising campaigns)

Required skills
· Significant experience of social media and digital media
· Experience of fundraising desirable
· Analytical thinker able to transform ideas into tangible actions
· Excellent level of written English and strong writing skills
· WordPress and/or design and/or DTP skills a plus
· A self-starter – proactive and able to work independently
· Evidence of working as a good communicator
· Highly organized
· A demonstrated interest in international development issues desirable Most importantly the chosen candidate will have an interest in helping TWB meet its mission to provide people access to vital knowledge in their language.

HOW TO APPLY:
The internship is six months in length and should begin in September 2016. Location is flexible - this will be a remotely based role. Translators without Borders does not have a physical office. The internship is paid at USD400 per month; the intern should consider the position full time. Our previous interns have told us that our placements offer valuable experience in both the non-profit and translation sectors; and an opportunity to develop business, marketing and project management skills.
