Job Description
The Air Traffic and Navigation Services Company Limited of South Africa (ATNS) provides air traffic services throughout the country and is responsible for the provision of the air traffic control and navigation system infrastructure necessary to ensure a safe and effective service.

Chief Financial Officer

Applications are invited for the position of Chief Financial Officer, based at Isando. The successful applicant will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Major activities: * Develop and implement the ATNS financial strategy, including investment, projected returns, treasury, cash management and shareholder information * Implement procurement processes that promote ATNS interests, minimise risk and exposure and develop strategic relationships with suppliers * Submit Management reports outlining progress against targets, identifying adverse trends and recommending appropriate action for the future * Prepare Interim and Annual Reports regarding the financial health of ATNS for distribution to the Board and relevant stakeholders, with information that is accurate and complies with regulatory requirements * Chair or attend appropriate committees responsible for financial governance,
management and practice to ensure appropriate financial policy and related decisions are taken * Check, sign off and submit statutory returns timeously to the relevant authorities, including the Regulator, in accordance with applicable legislation (with no fines, penalties or interest being charged) * Ensure financial reports, financial statements, new account development and Group Auditor reports are executed accurately, timeously and in accordance with relevant governance, PFMA, GAAP, King III, Regulations and Treasury Standards * Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, legislative and internal requirements * Review the asset register to ensure the application of asset management policies and procedures - EVA/CVA * Drive annual budgeting and forecasting processes * Ensure the annual budgeting and forecasting process is aligned across ATNS, in accordance with budget guidelines * Present annual consolidations to the Board for approval * Analyse monthly accounts for variances and implement remedial action * Evaluate and review all investment proposals in respect of all company assets and new "acquisitions" * Manage the treasury for ATNS, including cash management * Scope, agree, monitor, control and report on future project programmes, to ensure execution within authorised budgets * Ensure adequate levels of competent staff are available, developed, monitored and maintained in order to meet operations outputs, by setting requirements and criteria with internal service providers (HR function) * Conduct performance planning of staff in accordance with the performance management system and aligned to the ATM Strategy and the organisational strategy and plans * Identify, action and implement employee training and development * Counsel, coach and mentor employees to meet individual and
departmental needs.

Minimum qualifications: A postgraduate qualification in Commerce or Finance and qualified as a CA(SA).

Minimum experience: 10 years' finance and commercial experience, of which 5 years must have been in a Senior Financial Management position.
