The Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) is a new public entity with the mission of stimulating and intensifying technological innovation in order to improve economic growth and the quality of life of all South Africans. General Manager: Information and Communications Technology Sector

Reporting to the GE: Industrial Sectors, the specialist General Manager: ICT will lead the development of effective strategies to position and drive the unit as one of TIA's core industrial sectors. Responsibilities include the implementation and facilitation of the commercialisation of research and development of innovative technology transfer programmes specific to the relevant sector, in line with TIA’s mandate. This includes the design, co-ordination and management of Technology Development processes.
Key activities: Overall leadership of relevant sector strategies, stakeholder management, the development of cross-sector and industry synergies and budget allocation and management.
Requirements: Candidates must have an MSc/MEng qualification in an ICT-related field, with 6-10 years’ relevant senior-level experience in a technology development environment, plus broad exposure to both the academic and private sector environments. A PhD will be an added advantage. Established sectorial networks within the private, academic and the public sector environment, business development experience and a solid understanding of the PFMA and general public sector regulations will also be needed.
