Organizational background

Winrock International is an NGO undertaking a program by the name Sudan BRIDGE funded by USAID. This is a three –year development program with an overall objective of supporting the CPA by strengthening the capacities of state and local government to decentralize and deliver basic services, provide tangible peace dividends and increase economic opportunities.

The Winrock International Sudan BRIDGE field office in UNITY state, maintains a compound used for office space and guest house accommodation for key staff. The office/guesthouse compound offers facility for staff such as office space, meals, accommodation and laundry. We are looking for a qualified Sudanese National to fill the vacant position of Compound Manager. This position will be based in Bentiu, UNITY State.

Major Responsibilities

• To manage and supervise the cleaning staff (Janitors & compound Assistants), cooks and compound service providers on a daily basis. Ensuring that the office, guest rooms, bathrooms and all the surrounding areas are kept clean at all times
• Training supervised staff to increase efficiency, capability and competency;
• Ensure that furniture, equipments and facilities in the offices and accommodations are functional and in good condition; DSTV subscription is validity is tracked, updated and maintained
• Ensure that washing and ironing of the Guest house beddings, staff/visitors personal clothes is done timely as per schedule and that laundry owners of laundry items receive them safely and in good quality
• Supervise the preparation of meals and ensure that staffs are served with quality meals and refreshments in a timely manner; Ensure that hygiene is at its best in the eating, living, meeting and working environment
• Ensure there are adequate groceries and household supplies in all the compounds and maintain a stock record.
• Ensure that generators are functional, maintained, fueled and serviced periodically; generator logs sheets are up-to-date, supervise the switch-over of the generators and ensure that the rest periods are observed.
• Daily site inspections to determine if repairs or upgrades are needed to the buildings, furniture, physical plant or infrastructure; Informing the Logistics Officer of needed repairs or upgrades, contacting qualified repair persons, and supervising their work and payment, ensures any contracted companies or persons supply the contracted work or material
• Monthly reporting to Logistics on fuel usage by the generators, occupancy rates (including names), stock reports and other relevant activities/expenditures as assigned;
• Assisting with conferences, trainings and meetings as required, to include set-up, clean-up, and coordination of resources;
• Performs any other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Qualifications

1. Education: Diploma in Logistics, Hotel and Catering management or equivalent.
2. Experience: Minimum of two years relevant work experience
