Job Objectives:

ACTION AGAINST HUNGER | ACF INTERNATIONAL seeks a Development Campaign Director (DCD) to implement and manage the Challenge to End Malnutrition, a five-year, international fundraising and marketing campaign. The multi-million dollar campaign aims to engage people worldwide, and help stop childhood deaths from hunger-related causes.

This role will require an ambitious fundraising and communications professional with exemplary record of innovation and 5 – 7 years of relevant leadership experience and 5 years of progressive frontline fundraising experience. Responsibilities include cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of an international portfolio for corporate partners and high-value donors, and the development of an innovative online marketing strategy targeting a broad base of support across cultures and languages. An expert in fundraising and campaign management and an excellent communicator in English and French, the DCD will lead a 4-person team to establish and maintain a five year global fundraising campaign with an eight figure goal.
The DCD will report directly to the Director of External Relations for ACF-USA and will have close coordination with the Directors of Development & Communications at the four other ACF headquarters. He/she will serve as an integral member of the Challenge Management Committee, dedicated to the campaign at the international level. The position, scheduled to begin by March 2011, will be based in New York, with regular travel between headquarters.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Campaign
• Spearhead the campaign team across the five international HQs in identifying, setting and meeting highly measurable goals and targets.
• Lead and supervise the implementation of the campaign strategy, timeline and policies.
• Coordinate information flow within the campaign between all HQs.

Budget Management
• Manage and monitor the international campaign budget of $6+ million over five years.

Online Marketing
• Direct the implementation of an online marketing campaign using creative, viral strategies to attract global support as cost-effectively as possible.

Individual & Corporate Donor Relations
• Establish and manage a portfolio of prospective corporate partners (national and international) and convert them into active campaign supporters.
• Qualify & manage a select pool of high-value individual donors over the course of the Campaign.

Communications
• Oversee all communications activities for the Challenge campaign – work with in-house staff and consultants to develop key PR strategies to launch the campaign and ensure its continued momentum.

Manage Campaign Team
• Recruit, train and supervise all fundraising and communications staff as well as consultants working on the campaign.

Measure and Evaluate Progress
• Consistently evaluate progress and determine if goals are being met.
• Present bi-monthly and annual reports to the Challenge Management Committee.
Qualifications:
• 5-7+ years of leadership experience in fundraising, political campaigning and or management consulting experience in multi-million dollar campaigns with a track record of success.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive frontline fundraising experience.
• Four-year undergraduate degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and success with online marketing essential.
• Proven track record in securing corporate partnerships and working with high-value donors/clients.
• Strong experience in public relations and strategic communications planning.
• Proven ability to effectively manage and develop campaign staff.
• Proven ability to both work independently, and build consensus with international partners.
• Experience of campaign management and philanthropic culture in both Europe and the US a key advantage.
• Willingness to travel extensively
• Fluent in English • French and/or Spanish a strong plus.
• Celebrity management experience a plus.
