APSP was officially launched in May 2010 with the commencement of its first one-year executive masters course “Managing Peace and Security in Africa”, aimed at senior professionals from the AU Commission, the RECs and other regional institutions. Beyond this, APSP has also been requested to engage in outreach and research activities in relation to the Commission’s peace and security agenda. An outreach and research project under the title “African solutions in peace and security” has been inaugurated in December, 2010;

Our core team of professionals needs to be expanded. This creates an exciting opportunity for capable and highly committed individuals to contribute to the full establishment of this fledgling institution which, we hope, is poised to make significant contributions to addressing the “intellectual challenge” of peace and security in Africa.
