Monitoring and Evaluation Project Coordinator Job Description

IPA is looking to hire a Project Coordinator to provide partner organizations in Uganda with monitoring and evaluation advice, best practices, and tools.

The Project Coordinator will work closely with partner organizations to understand their unique data needs and to develop and pilot targeted M&E plans. The PC will make technical presentations to local organizations on monitoring and evaluation, conduct in-depth field visits supporting and advising on data collection and analysis, and assist with the synthesis of collected data. Regular reports and reviews of findings will be submitted to IPA. The Project Coordinator should have 2-4 years professional experience in M&E with international organizations, as well as field experience.

Duration and Location:
• Start date: March 2011.
• 1 year commitment requested, extension possible.
• Based in Kampala, Uganda with regular travel out of the capital for short and long field visits.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, social sciences, organizational development, management or related fields.
• Professional and/or academic training in monitoring and evaluation.
• Prior work experience in monitoring and/or evaluation in developing countries.
• Training and/or experience with randomized control trials.
• Experience living and conducting field research in a developing country is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of database management software is a strong plus.
• Excellent management and organizational skills along with strong quantitative skills; managerial experience and the ability to present positions and to negotiate with senior officials.
• Fluency and excellent communication skills in English.
• Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations.
• Familiarity with randomized controlled trials preferred.
• We are looking for a commitment period of one year for this position.
