Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

Purpose of the Position
Under the guidance of the Deputy Representative/Senior Social Policy Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Programme – Partners in Development.

Key Expected Results
1. You will design, prepare, implement, monitor and evaluate assigned programmes or specific project(s). Analyze and evaluate data to ensure achievement of objectives and/or takes corrective action when necessary to meet programme/project objectives. Contribute to the development and/or introduction of new approaches, methods and practices in project management, monitoring and evaluation.

2. You will act as a resource to Government counterpart ministries and agencies in social policy and programme development. Undertake periodical review with government counterparts and other partners. Propose and/or undertake action on operational procedures affecting project management and implementation. Provide technical advice and assistance to government officials and other partners in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme/project(s).

3. You will contribute toward the preparation of the Situation Analysis by compiling data, analyzing and evaluating information and updating it periodically as necessary.

4. You will prepares the sectoral documents for Country Programme Document and Plans of Action, and other programme-related documents, as required

5. You will assist government authorities in planning and organising training programmes, Identify training needs and objectives for the purpose of capacity development, programme sustainability and for the promotion of advocacy

Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Advanced university degree in social sciences, or related technical fields, experience in programme development, monitoring and evaluation and surveillance systems of socio-demographic and socio-economic data and information.

Eight years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in programme management, monitoring and evaluation.

Fluency in English and another UN language.
