The office of the Auditor General (OAG) is an institution established under the provisions of Article 163 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. Its mandate, functions and powers are enshrined in the National Audit Act, 2008. The main function of the OAG Is to audit and report on the Public Accounts of Uganda and of all public offices or bodies and/or organizations established by an Act of Parliament.

Pursuant to chapter 1, section L - a of the Government Standing Orders as well as section 2 of the Pensions Act, Chapter 286 (Laws of Uganda), the OAG was recognized by the Pensions Authority as "Other Public Service" w.e.f. 4th October 2008.

In a bid to reposition the office as an autonomous institution so as to maximize its capacity to deliver in relation to its Vision, Mission and strategic plan, the OAG has reviewed its organization

A division of Support Services has been created. The head of the division will be a member of Top Management responsible to the Auditor General for providing senior management input into corporate and professional support services ,general administration and advising the Top management team on the day today working and development of theses functions



JOB TITLE: Principal Auditor
AGE: 28 Years and above
SALARY SCALE: U2
JOB REF: ADM, 56/136/01[02/11]
REPORTS: THE SENIOR PRINCIPAL AUDITOR

Experience
Financial reporting or litigation consulting in forensic accounting including familiarity with prosecution and embezzlement cases.

Required skills/competencies
• Should demonstrate ability to inspire, motivate, coach, mentor and develop others.
• Possession of high emotional and social intelligence.

Duties
1. Coordinating teams in tracking and collecting forensic evidence.
2. Checking and verifying forensic audit queries from subordinate staff.
3. Prepare and review forensic audit plans, working paper files and management letters from
4. Preparing the 1st draft forensic audit reports.
5. Providing technical guidance to PAC members during discussions of OAG forensic audit report.
6. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Job requirement

Minimum Qualifications
An Honours Bachelors Degree in Law, or Commerce (Accounting Option) or Business
Professional qualification like ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA or CPA from a recognized University/Institution. He/she should have undertaken certification as a fraud Examiner such as CFE. A masters' Degree in a related field will be a distinct advantage.
