Senior Manager, Electricity Transmission Policy

£43,000 - £69,700 per annum
Based in London SW1

The Ofgem (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) Group regulates the gas and electricity industries in Britain. Our role is to protect consumers and enable them to secure value for money and benefit from reliable supplies. Ofgem has now restructured to meet its duties and obligations for both today's and also tomorrow's consumer. E-Serve is responsible for Ofgem's delivery functions, while Ofgem maintains its regulatory and policy roles.

You will lead, or be an integral part of, the development of workable solutions in high profile policy areas, including the development of funding and incentive arrangements for strategic investment in electricity transmission, the development of transmission charging and associated arrangements that are fit for purpose for current challenges, and the implementation of the relevant European policy. You will also manage projects related to policy development and/or implementation.

Key requirements
• a degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, economics, accountancy, finance)
• relevant expertise, preferably with exposure to policy, regulatory or commercial issues relevant to the energy sector and ideally to electricity transmission
• expertise in policy (quantitative and qualitative) analysis
• ability to develop and analyse complex concepts and communicate them effectively
• capability in team management and development
• ability to deliver key projects to challenging timescales and think strategically
• good report drafting skills and effective influencing skills
• expertise in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
