Recruitment Officer, Security Superintendent and Foreman, Mechanical positions available

IITA is an international non-profit research-for-development (R4D) organization created in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and supported primarily by the Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our R4D is anchored on the development needs of sub-Saharan Africa. We develop agricultural solutions with our partners to tackle hunger and poverty by reducing producer and consumer risks, enhancing crop quality and productivity, and generating wealth from agriculture. We have more than 100 internationally recruited scientists from about 35 countries and 900 nationally recruited staff based in various stations across Africa.

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the following positions at the Institute’s Headquarters, Ibadan.

Position	Duties	Qualifications and Experience
RECRUITMENT OFFICER (2-year renewable Contract)	Recruitment Officer will among other things: Attend to requests for recruitment of National Staff. Prepare draft job advertisements and advise the Personnel Manager on mode of advertisement. Carry out preliminary screening/short listing of candidates for interview. Prepare interview invitation letters to applicants (as approved by the Personnel Manager) and follow up. Arrange interviews, prepare interview reports; and prepare offer letters to successful candidates. Ensure conditions precedent to employment and post employment documentations are met. Prepare monthly recruitment statistics/reports. Conduct initial orientation of new recruits in the General and Senior Staff categories. Constantly explore ways of carry out efficient and cost effective talent hunt and staffing functions. Prepare recruitment and interview updates for the Personnel Manager and Human Resources Manager. Manage temporary labour recruitment and maintain labour records. Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.	BSc/HND in Business or Management or Human Resource related discipline. A Professional Certificate of CIPM is added advantage. Minimum of 8 years relevant working experience in the management of recruitment of large organization. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be personable and have very high integrity.
SECURITY SUPERINTENDENT (2-year renewable Contract)	Successful candidate will among other things: Monitor daily work performance of the outsourced security services provider Coordinate effective/efficient patrol of the Institute campus; Initiate immediate response to emergencies like fire, theft; etc Conduct security investigations and submit a comprehensive report to the Security Manager; Conduct regular fire safety audit; Ensure that all security operational equipment are in good working condition. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.	BSc/HND or equivalent in relevant fields of study with at least 5 years of cognate experience in security and crime investigation work in any of the uniformed services. Not below the rank or equivalent of Inspector in the Police Force. Applicants must have good physique, high integrity and be knowledgeable in work planning. He must also be committed, resourceful, honest and must possess very good driving skills with a valid drivers’ licence.
FOREMAN, MECHANICAL (2-year renewable Contract)	Successful candidate will among other things: Diagnose and proffer solutions to identified problems on both petrol powered and diesel operated automotives; Use OBD II equipment to troubleshoot auto electrical defects on SUV automotives; Repair and fix defective kick starters; Repair Alternators; Align generally, auto electrical wires; Prepare electrolyte and charge many accumulators using series connections. Carry out quality checks on vehicles repaired in the workshop; Ensure good house-keeping and safety compliance at all time and Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.	BSc/HND Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) with 5 years or ND plus 10 years relevant working experience in a large Auto-electrical workshop. Successful candidate must be knowledgeable in work planning and shop floor organisation and be able to perform under pressure and deliver timely results. Candidate must be committed, resourceful, and honest must possess very outstanding leadership qualities.
