IT Support Engineer - Petra Diamonds

Petra Diamonds is an important supplier of rough diamonds to the international market, with a major resource base of 309 million carats (including Finsch). The company offers an exceptional growth profile within the diamond sector, with a core objective to grow annual production to around 4 million carats by FY 2014 (including Finsch) and further increase output to over 5 million carats by FY 2019 (including Finsch). Koffiefontein Mine is located at Koffiefontein in the Free State Province of South Africa, 110 kilometers southeast of Kimberley. It is a major contributor to Group revenue and its high-value production is highly sought after in the international diamond market.

IT Support Engineer

The purpose of this job is to provide IT support to the Koffiefontein and Sedibeng user base. This will involve typical desktop support, back office support as well as LAN support, including surveillance, access control and telephony services. The successful candidate will be self-driven to continually monitor, evaluate and improve delivery of IT services within the organisation with a customer-centric approach.

Duties and responsibilities: • Install, configure and maintain computer hardware and software • Install, configure and maintain network infrastructure • Assist with IT support functions • Maintain the asset register for all IT assets • Provide a change control function • Manage logged as assigned calls.

Requirements: • Grade 12 Certificate • A+ and N+ certified (MCSE will be an added advantage) • A minimum of 4-5 years' experience in IT infrastructure support in a Microsoft environment • A valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
