Regional Child Protection Adviser, Asia

The development of successful child protection programmes on the ground is central to our strategy in Asia. Our approach recognises that wider changes in policy and societal practices are as important. Policy, advocacy and wider mobilisation of the public at national and international levels are key requirements to achieve lasting change.

In this new and exciting position you will support country offices in Asia to design and deliver high-quality child protection programmes that prevent and respond to abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence. You will play a critical role in raising new institutional funds and supporting the delivery of high-quality programmes. You’ll be a credible and authoritative voice in discussions about regional policy, situation analyses and response. You’ll also provide support in programme development, fundraising, quality assurance, advocacy, recruitment, capacity-building, knowledge management and networking.

We are looking for demonstrable commitment and an understanding of key programme issues in the field of Child Protection, including planning and budgeting at national and sub-national levels. You will have experience in the design, implementation and management of Child Protection programmes in an international development context with successful high-value proposal development, grant management, donor liaison and report writing. You’ll also have strong expertise and understanding of key issues in the field of Child Protection, with strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to think and plan strategically. You’ll also need demonstrated experience of developing effective working relationships with senior stakeholders from government agencies, international organisations, donors, academics and opinion-leaders, including successful advocacy and influencing.
