IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Manager, IDCAP

MAIN FUNCTION: This position will have responsibility for supporting the Integrated Infectious Disease Capacity-Building Evaluation (IDCAP), funded by a multi-year grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. IDCAP is being implemented in Uganda and has the goal of evaluating a cost-effective method to build capacity among non-physician clinicians in sub-Saharan Africa for the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the Program Manager in the management and implementation of IDCAP. S/he will assist the Program Manager in writing program reports and developing communication pieces.

In addition to IDCAP, the individual in this position is responsible for providing administrative, technical and program management support to the Global Health Program team and provide direct administrative and logistical support to the Senior Vice President, Global Health Programs. The candidate will be responsible for preparing routine and advanced correspondence including letters and memoranda, as well as managing travel, meeting, and conference call logistics for Global Health Program personnel. The Program Associate's responsibilities will require working with staff at all levels both in the home office and in the field. The position requires flexibility and willingness to assume a wide range of duties and projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

*Works closely with the Program Manager to provide technical and logistical support to the Integrated Infectious Disease Capacity-Building Evaluation (IDCAP)

*Works closely with the Program Manager to ensure delivery of quality reports and communications to both the program funder and the external community

*Works closely with Program Manager and Sr. Grants Finance Manager to ensure compliance with all grant requirements

*Provides administrative and logistical support to Senior Vice President, Global Health Programs

*Assists in review of IDCAP project materials to ensure quality output

*Manages communications for IDCAP

*Assists in preparation of project reports for submission to funder

*Assists IDCAP team to optimize project's visibility among other stakeholders and development community at large

*Maintains IDCAP central files and records

*Provides administrative and logistical support to IDCAP and other program team members as needed

*Researches new funding opportunities for the Global Health Program Development Department

*Manages weekly Academic Alliance conference calls

*Accurately records and compiles meeting minutes for review and approval

*Supports other Accordia teams as needed.

Qualification:
Education: Bachelor's degree in global health, international relations, international development or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience: The successful candidate will have a minimum 1-2 years related non-profit and/or administrative work experience; international work experience in global health a plus. S/he will have solid organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. S/he will have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.

S/he will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and a strong ability to relate to people of all business and social levels. S/he will exhibit strong writing and communication skills. The ability to work on multiple assignments at the same time, to meet deadlines and to be flexible to changing priorities is critical.
