Founded in 1972, the European Organisation of Military Associations is an umbrella organisation of 39 military associations and trade unions in Europe. United, EUROMIL`s member associations promote the social and professional interests of about 500.000 Europeans in 25 countries, servicemen and servicewomen of all ranks and their families.

EUROMIL is the main Europe-wide forum for co-operation among professional military associations on issues of common concern. Through the international secretariat in Brussels, EUROMIL facilitates exchange of information, experiences and best practice among member associations.
The organisation strives to secure and advance the human rights, fundamental freedoms and socio-professional interests of soldiers by monitoring and advocating at the European level.

We are currently looking for a Project Officer to support our office in Brussels.

You have:

  • A university degree, preferably in Political Science or Communication Studies;
  • Work or trainee experience of more than two years in an international environment;
  • Very good command of English and good knowledge of German;
  • Experience in website management and editing of newsletters;
  • Experience in EU Public Affairs and Public Relations;
  • Intercultural competence and capacity to work in a small international team.

We appreciate:

  • Work experience in the EU Institutions, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the trade unions or NATO;
  • Experience in the Armed Forces and knowledge of EU social and labour legislation and/or Security and Defence Policy;
  • Knowledge of other languages.

Your tasks:

  • Managing EUROMIL’s website, editing EUROMIL News and developing EUROMIL’s Communications & Public Relations activities;
  • Planning and coordination of seminars, meetings and public events (Project Management);
  • Supporting EUROMIL`s advocacy (lobbying) and information activities (monitoring).

A successful candidate has thus a genuine interest in the social and professional conditions of European servicemen and –women, is a well-organized, reliable team-player with excellent editorial skills and the intellectual capacity for in-depth analysis. He/she has a pleasant personality with suitability for advocacy and lobbying.
