In order to support this work from Brussels, the financial department is looking for a Finance Project Manager (m/f)
Background and objectives:
Within MSF, the Finance Department aims to ensure that the resources committed make a successful contribution towards the implementation of operational objectives.
Within the Finance Department, the finance project manager occupies a central coordination position in the Discovery Program – finance Project (implementation of the financial part of the new ERP).
He/she is the driving force in the organization of the implementation effort for the Finance related modules.
He/she coordinates and participates in requirements definition, functional analysis, configuration, test development, user acceptance testing, end user training, deployment and long term maintenance. He is the permanent liaison the Finance department and the Information Systems Department.
Job profile:
Project Management :
- Plan and monitor the work for major finance projects for Headquarters and the Field
- Coordinate with project managers from other departments on integration components
- Report to the Finance Director and the IS Functional Architect
Requirements Definition :
- Defining and updating the list of processes and subprocesses
- Collecting the expectations expressed by the users, organising them according to the implementation plan and suggesting consistent solutions.
- Prioritizing needs that are internal to the department
- Keep requirements aligned with on-going international projects (UniField, New Field Accounting Principles, ...)
Functional Analysis :
- Study the opportunities offered by software packages being implemented
- Align processes where possible with pre-configured best practices
- Perform gap analysis between packages and requirements
- Propose solutions to improve pre-configured processes in function of critical requirements, e.g. emergency process flows, in co-operation with involved consultants
- Analyze integration and interfacing needs
Configuration :
- Participate in the configuration of the functional components of the software
Test Development :
- Define the most appropriate Test Strategy for the department
- Define Test scenarios and prepare appropriate test data
User Acceptance Testing :
- Organize User Acceptance Testing by providing clear testing instructions to the participating users
- Appropriately report on test results
Deployment & End User Training :
- Develop & distribute training material for end users
- Organize training sessions in cooperation with the HR & finance training units
- Follow-up on training results and take corrective actions where appropriate
- Migrate data from old to new systems
- Perform the necessary data quality checks and corrections where appropriate
- Assist users when going live
- Organize a first line helpdesk within the department.
Long Term Application Management :
- Collect, prioritize & implement change requests in cooperation with the IS Functional Architect
- Search for improvement opportunities
- Provide input to the development / evolution of the IS Strategic Plan
Candidate profile:
- Degree in economics/finance
- Professional experience in a similar position of 2 to 5 years
- Good organizational skills and a rigorous approach
- Strong communication skills at various levels
- Strong ability to adapt and to demonstrate initiative
- Very good knowledge of Excel, BO is a plus
- French and English required, Dutch is a plus
